Slightly OT: Windows Vista parental controls

Hello all
My children have a new computer and it has Windows Vista installed on it
(which I don't like, but that's another story!). Vista has a seemingly good
parental control system, and I have set the computer up with myself as
administrator, password protected, and each of the children as users. The
only parental control I want to use at the moment is the one that keeps a
record of the websites my children visit and the frequency of use of
messaging services. But when I set up the controls, none of their websites
work any more, even if it is set to allow all sites. And in fact the first
time I set this up, even when I then turned the parental controls off again
the websites still didn't work, and I had to perform a System Restore to get
it all working again.
Does anybody know what I am doing wrong, and what I could try in order to
rectify all this?
Thanks in advance

Are you sure it's Vista? I'm getting the same problem with XP machines on a
router that automatically blocks specific computers based on the number of
simultaneous connections they demand. I seem to recall it was something to
do with protection from the "Blaster" virus, which works in the same way.

Yes, it is definitely Vista. It is working off a wireless router, however,
but there are no problems at all unless I switch the parental controls on...
