4yo. Penis pain

My little boy is complaining of pain at the end of his penis.

He is uncircumsised and the pain isn't constant. If it was we would take him
to the doctors.

We try to clean it the best we can (through tears) and he says that the pain
stops a little bit.

It's only happened about 3 times over 5 months, but is quite disconcerting.

Could it be just dirt / soreness from urine?

Any other suggestions.

My father was circumsised as his foreskin didn't grow, although he was about
10. I have never had any problems.

Any help would be appreciated.
