Activity book for 1-year old?
(too old to reply)

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a book of activities for a one-year-old? He loves
exploring everything and is getting tired of his toys (and those of the
other kids he plays with). I'm looking for activities he can do both on his
own and with his friends. We've tried play dough but he's not into that yet
(or I'm not being very imaginative with it), and we've started painting with
him which he enjoys, so we're looking for more things to do with him.

Thanks for any suggestions, either about a book or about activities
themselves!

I don't think for a 1 year old you're going to really find "activities" he
can do entirely on his own.
Suggestions for fun things my girls did at that age:
1. Finger painting (you can get pads from elc)
2. Cooking (we took the tablecloth and put it on the floor and let them
weigh and mix)
3. trampoline (get one with a handle)
4. computer (type large letters in word)
5. stickers (beware they get everywhere)
6. sandpit
7. junk modeling
8. water play (best in the summer when you can go outside)
9. dancing to music
10. dressing up (particularly slopping round in our shoes)

Thanks Debbie, that's great - we'll try some of those.
