Who's effected by snow?
Both girls' schools are closed-the whole county schools are shut, and we've
about 6-8" here.

This morning we woke to a small snow covering so school was fine, but at
11.30 am it was about 4cm and while picking DD up from Nursery the School
said I should also take DS home too. However, the school was not closed for
the
rest of the pupils who did not have sibs in Nursery! We still have about
4-5cm of snow but the treated roads are clear, yet School is closed
tomorrow. We will see what tonight does or does not bring!

We are in Solihull, West Mids, where are you?

Well the promised snow on Monday night did not appear for us, but we had a
great day playing in the snow on Tuesday.
All Solihull schools are closed again today because of another heavy
snowfall, so another day playing in the snow - yippee!
More snow is forecast too.
How is everyone else doing today?

Both my daughters stayed at home as their respective secondary and
primary schools were shut. Actually, they didn't stay *at* home, they
went and found their friends and played in the snow.

However, my son's school was open, and he took the bus as normal. Less
then half the pupils turned up, and some of them were collected during
the day, so they didn't have any proper lessons. The school's website
now has warnings to say that if you get to school, you have to stay
until it shuts.

However, I've already decided that if either of the secondary schools
are shut tomorrow, I'll keep them both at home.

Well, my three are off again: we have about 4 inches of snow in the
garden. That might not sound too bad, but we also have a steep hill and
several miles of country road between us and the secondary schools.

We had 2" more last night and a struggle getitng to school this morning as
it started to thaw. #1 arrived late and I had to abandon #3 part way there
with a friend or else I'd not have got #2 to her school either (usually 5
minute walk away took us upwards of 20 minutes)).
To add to complications #3 was due to have grommets today. Luckily the roads
were clearer by lunchtime otherwise I don't think I'd have got there.
Girls are off tomorrow as poor forcast combined with todays fiasco. If
they'd realised how bad it was going to be then I think they'd have been off
today.
Happy girls-I never missed a day of school due to snow and they've had three
in a week.
:-)
